現在分詞を目的語の補語として使う動詞はそれほど多くない。

主に以下の2種類がある。

あなたが彼の日記を読んでいるのを彼が見つけたら、激怒するだろう。

The boss discovered her stealing money from the till.
社長は彼女が金庫から金を盗んだことに気づいた。

He found himself standing in front of the crowded hall and making his speech,as if in a dream.
彼は気がつくとまるで夢の中にいるかのように、混雑したホールの前に立ってスピーチをしていた。

They got her talking about her war experience.
彼らは彼女に戦時中の経験について話してもらった。

We tried to keep things going by a little teaching.
私たちは少し教えて物事を続けようとした。

Don’t leave their money lying in the bank,spend it.
彼らのお金を銀行に預けないで、使ってね。
